How to Make Laundry Detergent, Fabric Softener and Dishwashing Liquid for Business

Three of the most commonly used cleaning agents are laundry detergent, fabric softener and dishwashing liquid. Laundry detergent or washing powder helps break out and remove dirt and stains to make the laundry clean. Fabric softener is used while washing laundry to eliminate static cling at the same time reduce creases and make clothes soft. Liquid dishwash is a thick formulation that removes grease on dishes and leaves them sparkling clean.

MATERIALS POWDERED DETERGENT
Soda Ash 1000 g
Linear Alykyl Benzene Sulfuric (LABS) 160 g
Distilled Water 100 ml
Zeoplite 40 g
Sodium Sulfate 800 g
Sodium Metasillicate 100 g
Sodium Sulphite 40 g
Sodium Percarbonate 60 g
Carboxy Methyl Celluse (CMC) 20 g
Coco Fatty Alcohol Sulfate (CFAS) 24 g
Speckles 10 g
Scent 5 ml
* Makes 2 kilos of powdered soap

PROCEDURE
1. Mix soda ash and LABS. Use wooden ladle while mixing.
2. Add water at least 100 ml. of water.
3. Mix thoroughly. Let it cool.
4. Add the remaining ingredients and mix.
5. Add perfume if desired, and then pack it for retail.

FABRIC SOFTENER
Fabric Softener Flakes or beads or paste 250 g
Ethyl Alcohol 10 ml
Scent 10 ml
*Makes 3 liters of fabric softener

PROCEDURE
1. Crush 250 g. of fabric softener flakes / beads in a plastic container, using a wooden ladle.
2. Gradually pour the flakes to 2 liters of hot de-ionized water and stir to dissolve the flakes.
3. Mix it and let it cool.
4. When all the flakes / beads had dissolved, pour additional 1 liter de-ionized or distilled water.
5. Add the 10 ml. ethyl alcohol and 5 ml. – 10 ml. fragrance consecutively.

LIQUID DISHWASHING COMPOUND
Sodium Lauryl Ethyl Sulfate (SLES) 150 g
Sodium Chloride 50 g
Coco Deethanolomyte (CDEA) 60 ml
Water Soluble – Dye Green 10 ml
Benzalkonium Chloride .01 ml
Kalamansi Scent 10 ml
*Makes 2 liters of liquid dishwashing

PROCEDURE
Mix 150 g. of SLES with 50 g. Sodium Chloride.
Stir and add 1,400 ml. hot de-ionized water of tap water gradually.
Pour on the additives and fragrance. Let it cool.
Put in plastic containers or bottles.

Alternative medicine experts have discovered that certain scents have soothing and relaxing properties when inhaled. When you breathe in the scent of essential oils, a message is sent to your brain, which triggers a reaction – be it calming, energizing or slowing your breathing. Particular essential oils may also have effects when they enter the bloodstream through topical application, too.
Stress free scents
Lavender: This super calming scent is known to help relax the body and fight insomnia. Look for calming lotions or bedtime balm infused with lavender. Rub it on your temples and neck before bed so you can breathe in the aroma as you drift to sleep. You may also want to try relaxing in a warm bath with a few drops of lavender oil in it just before you hit the sack.
Chamomile: Another scent for the sleep-deprived, chamomile’s benefits are often heralded by devotees. Just like with lavender, you could draw a warm pre-bedtime bath and add a few drops of chamomile oil. But another lovely way to enjoy its relaxing and sedating effects is through a cup of chamomile tea.
Bergamot: From citrus rinds, this essential oil is actually refreshing and will give you a better sense of well-being to calm stress. When you want a mood boost, use a diffuser to emit this uplifting scent into your room. Or if you want a quick pick me up in the morning, use a bergamot scented shower gel to start your day off on the right foot.
Jasmine: A scent derived in India can be both sensual and relaxing. When you’re feeling nervous or upset, burn a jasmine scented candle. Enjoy the breathing in the rich, calming scent until you start to feel like you can tackle whatever is making you feel upset.

Mixing Your Own Aromatherapy Oils

Aromatherapy oils can be used for everything from massage oil to filling a room with scent. Alternative medicine has dissected basic scents and their healing properties to create oils designed to create physical responses in those who smell them; just getting a whiff of these intoxicating aromas can do wonders. Essential oil blends can get pricey, but if you buy each oil separately, you can dilute them yourself to create several blends for many different purposes. If you want to take on mixing your own aromatherapy oils, read on for the basic tips that will get you started.

To start you’ll need a carrier oil, which is used to provide the foundation to the fragrant mixture you are creating. Carrier oils also dilute the oils you add to your mixture. Standard carrier oils include sweet almond oil, aloe vera, coconut oil avocado oil or even extra virgin olive oil.

Once you have a carrier oil in place, you can add your more fragrant oils. For every ounce of your carrier oil you should add anywhere from 10 to 15 drops of an essential oil. The mixtures should be created and stored in old jars, so check your cupboards prior to mixing.

What oil or oils should you choose? Remember that florals will smell nice when mixed with spicey, citrus or woodsy oils. Peppermint aromatherapy oils mix well with citrus, woodsy, earthy and herbaceous scents. Spicy Asian scents are best blended with a hint of floral or citrus so you don’t overpower the top note.

If you’re looking for an aromatherapy oil to solve an issue, lavender, ylang-ylang, chamomile and vanilla are soothing and relaxing. And Spearmint, eucalyptus, lemongrass and peppermint are uplifting and energizing.

You should also know that when you mix your own oils the true scent won’t take shape immediately. You’ll need to let your blend sit for 24 hours or more before you can get a true read on the aroma.

Scrubs are a treat because they feel good as they exfoliate, removing dead skin cells and revealing younger, softer skin. This new skin absorbs moisture and nutrients easier, making your lotion work better and helping your skin stay soft and supple.

Exfoliating body scrubs can be made with a variety of ingredients, but each scrub consists of an exfoliant (usually salt, sugar or other ground natural substance such as coffee, almond shells, apricot pits, oatmeal or corn meal) and a liquid base. Some people prefer to buy prefabricated liquid bases such as shampoos or lotions. Others prefer to mix their own liquid base using nourishing oils, essential oils, fragrances and/or soap bases. With each body scrub, you’ll need to determine what kind of fragrance you want. Essential oil fragrances are high quality products that will deliver a powerful punch for very little use of the product. Best Body Scrub for Oily Skin
Salt scrubs are best for oily skin since they can be slightly dehydrating. The coarse salt will exfoliate well and should be balanced with a moisturizing oil that benefits oily skin such as apricot kernel oil or olive oil. If you use sea salt, you will want to grind the salt in a food processor or coffee grinder to make sure the rough edges are rounded off a bit. Salt scrubs can be irritating if you have any cuts or scrapes, so make sure your skin is in good condition before using it.

Invigorating Salt Scrub Recipe
1 cup sea salt, ground in coffee grinder
½ cup apricot kernel oil
A few drops of grapefruit essential oil

Combine ingredients, stir and store in decorative jar. Mixture will separate. Stir before each use. Do not use a salt scrub more than twice a week as it may irritate your skin.

Best Body Scrub for Dry Skin
Sugar scrubs are best for dry skin. You can use either sugar in the raw, brown sugar or white can sugar, depending on what size grain you desire. Sugar scrubs are hydrating. While they do not exfoliate as aggressively as salt scrubs, they do stimulate circulation and do perform mild exfoliation service. You can use a sugar scrub daily with no adverse effects whatsoever.

Few drops geranium infused essential oil

Combine ingredients, stir and store in decorative jar. Mixture will separate. Stir before each use. You can use this scrub every day or just to dip your razor into the oil and use it as a lubricant for shaving.

Best Body Scrub for Itchy Skin
Oatmeal is a natural soothing agent for itchy skin. Combine it with some gentle olive oil and you’ve got a scrub that will soothe as it gently exfoliates and moisturizes your skin.

Soothing Oatmeal Scrub Recipe
1½ cups whole oats
½ cup olive oil
Few drops vanilla infused essential oil

Best Body Scrub for Normal Skin
